The Honey Stash Dispensary is already getting involved in the Metuchen/Edison community in Middlesex County in Central Jersey before it is due to open in December.
They partnered with the Metuchen arts community for the recent Metuchen Pops Festival hosted by the Metuchen Downtown Alliance. It was a celebration of pop culture and featured a multitude or artists and surprise performances.
The store will be downtown at 700 Middlesex Ave.
Cannabis Dispensary and the Metuchen Community Festival
Honey Stash was happy to sponsor a photo booth shaped like an iconic VW hippie van. It allowed the attendees to create a memory and take home a souvenir of the day’s activities.
The photo booth ended up taking well over 100 pictures.
They also had their own artist, NJ-based Jovon Dennis, participate in creating artwork along with other artists.
“We are thrilled to be a business member of this vibrant community. And couldn’t be happier with the open arms the Borough and its council has welcomed us,” Honey Stash Executive Director Jeff Miller. “We appreciate Dawn Mackey and her team for bringing Honey Stash in as a sponsor. And hope this is the first of many town events we will be a part of.”
Arts and Community
“It meets our goal of not only being active members of the community. But also in helping educate and eliminate the stigma that years of misinformation has created for the cannabis industry and those 21+ who consume it,” he added.
As we had so many people making use of the photo booth, it’s clear to us we made the right decision to base our store here,” Miller said.
“We really want to thank Jeff, his partner “Big Dave” Valese and Jovon. For not only being a part of this great event but for moving so quickly to participate once the opportunity presented itself,” Downtown Metuchen Alliance Executive Director Dawn Mackey said. “We know that showcasing the work of local artists is a foundation of Honey Stash’s philosophy. And very much in synch with the Metuchen community.”
Nearby Edison approved cannabis dispensaries in 2021. But Heady NJ heard that no Edison cannabis dispensaries are expected. The small Green Zone where cannabis companies are allowed and continuing opposition from active locals who are anti-marijuana is preventing progress.
Pickleball Tournament Sponsored
Honey Stash has also formed a partnership with the JCC of Middlesex County whose main facility is on Oak Tree Road in Edison. They sponsored a sold-out Pickleball Tournament in East Brunswick, where many enjoyed America’s hottest sport.
“People don’t always look at cannabis as a Health and Wellness product,” noted Valese, Chief Cannabis Officer for the dispensary.
“JCC CEO Adam Glinn and Senior Development Officer Talia Tor met with us to discuss ways Honey Stash could get involved with their center and members. This sponsorship seemed like the perfect way to present cannabis and its medical benefits to them. Physical fitness is such a major part of the JCC’s programming for the 21+ community who can consume cannabis legally in New Jersey,” he explained.
“It presents options that are less harmful to their bodies. And helpful to manage the pain they feel following a workout or playing Pickleball, basketball, softball, or any activities they participate in and a major part of our educational goals as we settle in here,” Valese added.
Upcoming Honey Stash Dispensary
Honey Stash is planning to open on Middlesex Avenue in time to bring in the green for the holidays.
The mission of Honey Stash is to be your cannabis destination. They want to deliver an experience that customers find easy, comfortable, and energizing.
According to Honey Stash management, everyone who works there does so they love helping others. They argue customers will feel the difference that comes from people who care. It will be due to the positive energy, the timely service, and the space you need to make the right decision.
Their team is committed to helping customers find what they need, even if they don’t know what that is yet.
They are planning a drive-through as well.
According to MyCentralJersey.com, they were approved by the Metuchen Council in October 2023. The town passed a pro-cannabis dispensary ordinance in 2022.
Unfortunately, the process got contentious, with an out-of-state operator suing the town.
The team behind Honey Stash Metuchen is behind the Honey Grove Dispensary in Clementon in South Jersey.
